The Clothes-line Bow

We personally have a dryer at our house for laundry, but when I visit my grandma's in the summertime, she uses an old fashioned clothes-line.

She has it strung up on the side of her house complete with an embroidered bag that holds the clothes pins.  On those hot summer days, it can get pretty full with wet towels and swimming suits from my cousins and me trying to stay cool.
Sometimes when it's just too hot, I sit on the porch in the shade and stare at the clothes as they sway in the breeze.

This hairstyle has that same feel to me because the bow looks like it's just hanging there.  And the layered curls of the ponytail remind me of one of my grandma's blouses swaying on the clothesline.  I love it.

  7. What was it exactly that you put on the hair before you made you bow? I haven't heard of it. Is it just styling putty or something?
But i absolutely LOVE the style! Totally using it for the next dance i go to! :)

  8. Yep. Pomeade is just the common brand name. But ours is just texturizing wax from Sally's Beauty or anywhere. It keeps the fly-aways down and makes it shiny. Good luck.

  11. She had some curl in the bottom of her hair before we started styling the bow. After the bow is finished, it left the ponytail layered. So I just brushed the hair around my hand into a swirl and it was that easy. Give it a try.
